The queen of suspense novels offers us a legal thriller. Young attorney Emily Wallace is handling the most important case of her career. Two years ago, popular actress Natalie Raines was murdered in her own home, and her ex-husband, Gregg Aldrich, has since been the main suspect in her death.

Emily manages to get under the skin of the late Natalie and experiences emotions that lead her to feel some empathy for the accused. She has a hunch and won’t stop investigating it, even though the judge has already ruled, despite the fact that she is putting her own life in danger.

The style is addictive, entertaining, agile, easy to read, full of unexpected twists, direct, with short, fast-paced chapters, and it keeps the suspense alive until the very end. The characters are well-defined and developed.
