Spiritual autobiography of a man who seeks his own consciousness. The book is a delight to read, literally fluid, well written, based on the documented facts of his own life story, and the fundaments of his conversion. It is wonderful to see how such a remarkable intellectual at the same time is such an honest person, wanting to know the truth and follow what God shows him. It's an apologia (defense) of his life, but also the defense of the Church, from the attacks aiming at it. His anti-liberal ideas were so advanced for its time that many Anglicans will not understand it. The biography also makes a good portrait of the Anglican church, and how they think.
