In the Mater Ecclesiae monastery Benedict XVI, Pope Emeritus, stayed away from audiences, but he did not stop writing and fulfilling some commitments that served to deepen aspects that concerned him. The book gathers the texts of those years, some are known, others unpublished.
Divided into six chapters that cover fundamental aspects that are not closed. On many occasions it invites and encourages further research. Titles as: what is religion, Christian-Islamic or Christian-Jewish dialogue, liturgy, sacred music and other contributions for the centenary of St. John Paul II or an interview on St. Joseph.
Three chapters stand out for their interest and depth, the first on the Catholic priesthood, which caused such a commotion, the second on the Eucharist and its meaning in the Holy Mass and the third on the scandal of sexual abuse in the Church in a world that lacks moral criteria. A precious legacy developed between 2013 and 2022.
