In the times of Czar Ivan, the Tsarina’s personal physician became also her lover. Little by little the doctor discovers the cruelty of both the Czar and his wife. One day he gets lost in the basement, where he finds a couple caring for some bears feeding on the victims of those whom the sovereigns want to eliminate. The couple have a child, affected by TB, who has never seen the light. The doctor assumes responsibility for liberating her from this painful situation while keeping the secret. Whereas the story has a certain interest, the insensitivity of the characters is shocking. Their only motives are passions of all types: violence, vindictiveness, sensuality.
