The story begins with several crimes, apparently unconnected, which are investigated by Los Angeles Homicide detectives Harry Bosch and Renee Ballard, who form a tandem already known by the readers of this good specialist of the crime novel Michael Connelly. Harry receives from the widow of police officer John J. Thompson a file on an old murder, the perpetrator of which is still unknown. Harry shows the documentation to his partner Renée and from that moment on the light at the end of the tunnel begins to appear, which will lead to know why that case was closed falsely.
