Collection of journalistic stories, between 1902 and 1940. Stefan Zweig was a lover and an expert of European culture and he always emphasizes the cultural and social values of those places.
In his stories he does not describe the most touristic places, nor the most beautiful or important cities. In many cases, the places described are no longer of tourist interest. He shows the social change that tourism was facing in the thirties with the appearance of travel agencies, "the travel factories".
A book to enjoy reading Zweig, who always says interesting things, written with great sensitivity.
