Brand Pitre is professor of Sacred Scripture at Notre (New Orleans). He is the author of several books and a popular speaker in the United States and in Catholic radio and television programs. He has produced dozens of audiovisuals on biblical studies, where he explores the biblical roots of the Catholic faith. He lives in Louisiana with his wife and five children.

With the subtitle " Walking the Path of Prayer" he offers us a book that is very accessible to a wide audience while at the same time written with the rigor of a theologian. The book has four parts: the first on prayer, the second "The Spiritual Path" on conversion and the commandments, the third "Virtues and Vices" on the capital sins and the virtues that oppose them, and finally "Progress" where he speaks of spiritual growth and the "Lectio Divina".

The book is very appropriate because most believers may not be familiar with the three main forms of prayer and the three stages of spiritual growth in this itinerary of the Christian Tradition. In the most personal of the books he has written, Brant Pitre uses biblical revelations, the words of Jesus, and the writings of the mystics of all centuries to illuminate the Mystery and wonder of the Spiritual Life. Through sacred truths, and practical suggestions, this work provides a guidebook that enables us to follow Jesus.
