It is essential for every Christian to maintain close contact and a personal dialogue with the Word of God, which is transmitted to us through Sacred Scripture. This dialogue must be truly personal because God speaks individually to each of us through the Scriptures and has a specific message for everyone. We must not read the Bible as an ancient text or something confined to the past, but as the living Word of God, which continues to speak to us today, inviting us to understand what the Lord wants to communicate to us. (Benedict XVI)

We recommend the The Navarre Bible: New Testament in the Revised Standard Version and New Vulgate by the University of Navarra.

Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, founder of Opus Dei and Grand Chancellor of the University of Navarra, commissioned the Faculty of Theology to carry out a new translation of the Bible into Spanish, directly from the original texts. This work was to include extensive introductions and explanatory commentary. In 2004, the Faculty completed this ambitious project.

This edition offers a detailed and comprehensive study, with introductions to each book, extensive commentary on all passages, appendices, maps, thematic indexes, and other resources. Additionally, the commentary includes references to renowned authors, such as Saints, Church Fathers, Doctors of the Church, Popes, Councils, and official documents from the Magisterium of the Church.

In short, it is an exceptional tool for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the Word of God with a solid and enriching foundation.
