A new novel in the Harry Bosch series. Recently retired from the LAPD, Bosch is asked by his half-brother and criminal lawyer Mickey Haller to work as an investigator in the case of a man accused of rape and murder. The evidence against him seems overwhelming and Bosch has no desire to be seen as working for ‘the other side,’ let alone for a defense lawyer as prominent as Haller. Little by little he realices that all is not as it seems.
