(Synopsis from the back cover):
«With his duel fast approaching, Lindon is locked away in prison.
As a Blackflame, he is too dangerous to remain free. The Skysworn, protectors of the Empire, have imprisoned him to keep him under control until the day of his promised fight arrives.
When it does, he will face Jai Long.
But a new danger approaches the Empire, closer every day. Only the Skysworn stand between the people of the land and total annihilation.
And Lindon may be forced to join them.»

Fourth installment in the Cradle series. No moral concerns. Plenty of action, combat, worldbuilding, and more lore and mysteries about the world, its history, and the magic system. That said, it’s a long series—twelve books—in which the author gradually reveals the world little by little. As part of the progression fantasy subgenre, the battles grow larger and the characters steadily gain more power. Lindon’s group also seems to be gradually expanding. It is praiseworthy and refreshing to see, at last, clean fantasy (at least so far). Moreover, that sense of excitement and wonder when discovering a new world reminds me of what I felt when reading the first two books of "The Stormlight Archive" by Brandon Sanderson ("The Way of Kings" and "Words of Radiance").
