The book's origin, as the authors acknowledge in the prologue, is a challenge they received: to write a book about the robbery of the Rockefeller Center's Christmas tree in New York. The plot of the book is a bit farfetched, but the objective is accomplished: it's an extended, enjoyable, and well-written story.
