The novel revolves around money laundering through influencers, the Internet, anonymity, and an employment agency run by a woman who is unaware of what is happening. It starts off at a slow pace but later becomes fast-paced. Although there are several characters, there are three main protagonists.

On the one hand, there is an agency of bodyguards for celebrities; on the other, there is Amy, one of the bodyguards, who protects a famous writer. The third protagonist is Steve, a retired former police investigator who deeply misses his deceased wife; he is Amy’s father-in-law, whom he holds in high regard.

All of them end up involved in several murders that lead to Amy being identified as the perpetrator. The settings are varied, ranging from the island of Saint Lucia to Dubai. There is a disturbing character whom no one knows, but who is the one pulling the strings and commissioning the murders, and who does not fall under suspicion. The novel reads easily, is entertaining, and has humorous elements.

Richard Osman (1970) is a British television presenter, producer, comedian, and novelist.
