The title clearly reflects the content of the book: What happened to characters like Sancho, Quitera, the niece, Sansón Carrasco, the priest, and the barber after the death of the nobleman? How did this loss impact their lives?
Trapiello revisits these main characters to develop a novel in which he excels at accurately imitating Cervantes' style. A significant part of the plot focuses on the interactions between Cebadón, the niece, and Sansón Carrasco, leading to a couple of immoral situations that, though briefly described, are presented with an aggressive tone.
Additionally, the author takes the opportunity to make some jokes about Providence. It remains to be seen whether this approach does justice to the characters we met in Don Quixote.
