St Therese of Lisieux entered the Carmelite convent at the age of 15 and died at the young age of 24. Yet her simplicity and confidence in God were enough to have her be declared a doctor of the Church. Though she suffered years of darkness in her interior life, she showed the way through humility and total dedication how to reach the heights of sanctity.

Fr Guy Gaucher OCD, who died in 2014, has written an authoritative and deeply moving account of the saint’s life. He was a French Carmelite priest who fills the gaps left vacant by the saint in her own account of her life, Story of a Soul, now a spiritual classic. It is a wonderful and valuable biography of an extraordinary saint.
