With this volume, the thirty-ninth novel of the Discworld Series, Terry Pratchett continues his well know display of comic phantasy. The book is funny and witty, with the added appeal of satirical, historical and detective stories narrative.
They say that a policeman taking a holiday will barely have time to open his suitcase before he finds his first corpse. In this novel, Commander Sam Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch is on holidays in the pleasant and innocent countryside. But not for him a mere body in the wardrobe. Rather, many, many bodies are found, and on top of that something brutal and cruel is discovered.
