The present book is a practical guide that aims to inform the reader of the medical and psychological aspects of human sexuality, with the idea of promoting responsibility and independence along with a healthy human and respectful outlook on the subject. Directed mainly to youth for a harmonious development of their psychology and sexuality, the book is written in a fluid and understandable prose. The authors explain, according to their personal and clinical experience, how to help bring about a harmonious psycho-sexual development in the person. Other topics covered are: ethical aspects related to when human life begins; the embryonic stage; problems that can arise with sexually-transmitted diseases; birth control and regulation; pregnancy and voluntary abortions in adolescence; sterility in a couple; and anomalies that can occur in sexual development. The author also covers the concept of sexual deviations: transexuality and homosexuality. He later explains more thoroughly the way to achieve an authentic emotional maturity: from the “I” to the “we”, and from friendship to love. F.J.L.
