A young journalist, gifted and highly intelligent, decides to investigate a case that has shaken public opinion due to its mysterious nature. In a room, a violent fight takes place. Those in the adjoining room try to enter, but the door is locked; they hear gunshots and force their way in… only to find the victim injured and half-dead, but with no trace of the attacker.

We are faced with a classic detective novel that gains intensity, suspense, and action as the pages go by. It is comparable to many works by Conan Doyle or Agatha Christie; moreover, although it contains surprises until the last page, it is one of those rare books that provides the reader with all the information needed to solve the mystery on their own… or at least to discover the culprit.

The novel highlights values such as loyalty, sincerity, and honesty. At one point, marital infidelity is mentioned, but it is clear that it is considered reprehensible.
