Life for children in a rural school is very monotonous. Everything changes when a new student called Augustin Meaulnes arrives. He is a strong, dreamy, adventurous, impulsive and reckless boy, who makes children's lives much more exciting. In one of his adventures, Meaulnes gets lost in the countryside and finds himself in a strange castle, in an extraordinary wedding party, where he finds the girl of his dreams, sister of the groom. But finally the marriage does not take place. Back at school, Meaulnes is chased for his memories and devotes his life to finding the girl and helping her brother.
