The book is a continuation of the bestseller (Left to Hell), published in 2006. The author's goal is to tell more of her story, especially the episodes most relevant to her spiritual growth. The subtitle reveals well the content: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust.

It is a powerful testimony. When there is faith and trust, God's grace continues to act in unimaginable situations. The first is the possibility of forgiving the murderers of a million Tutsis, including most of his family, whom he hated at first. Forgiveness, which God grants her, fills her soul with peace and brings her to prison to show it to the one who killed her mother and brother. The power of prayer and the mercy of God, who performs many miracles on those who abandon themselves totally in his hands. Immaculée understands that pain, hatred, cruelty and rage are the means used by the devil and decides to do everything in her power to make everyone forgive and begin to restore love in her country.

It is a strong story. In addition to the cruel murders, there is sexual harassment and physical intimidation. However, it does not descend into explicit details and the deep respect is appreciated.
