It is the story of Cornelia Ten Boom -Corrie- and her family, who live in the city of Haarlem, Holland and have a watchmaker's shop in the family home. A great biography of faith, love and forgiveness. From the beginning to the end the book keeps the reader in tension.
In 1940 the Nazi occupation of Holland begins. Gradually they become aware of anti-Semitism and the Beje becomes a home for many Jews. The house became a clandestine refuge where anyone in need could go. They saved hundreds of people, joined the resistance movement. They build a secret room where Jews could hide in case of a search.
Corrie and Betsie were taken to the Vught concentration camp in Holland. Later to the Ravensbrück extermination camp in Germany.
Corrie told all over the world this story of how faith triumphs over evil. Is a story of God's love. She was honored as "Righteous Among the Nations" by the government of Israel. She died in California on April 15, 1983, her 91st birthday, after speaking hundreds of time about love and forgiveness. I highly recommend this book for reading.
