Together with Frank Ghery, Zaha Hadid, and others, Libeskind is one of the leading architects in deconstructivist architecture, a further development of postmodernist architecture. This book is a mixture of autobiography and life-lessons both for architects and for the broader public. The design of the book, an artwork of graphic design and self-expression, is an important share of the message he tries to convey. Another way of putting it would be that Libeskind has made poetry and fine arts from graphic and architectural design. One may disagree about some of his life-learnings yet the book is astoundingly attractive for (young) architects, designers, artists, and anyone with an interest for the modern arts. The photographs, sketches, and plenty of graphic design approaches are simply marvelous, a delight to the eyes and mind. It is a large and expensive book.
