Thriller set in Kenya. The wife of a discreet British diplomat is murdered. She is an activist who defends exploited Africans against the powerful and corrupt, and discovers that a multinational pharmaceutical company was testing a new product on helpless and destitute populations, ignoring any standards of ethics or medical prudence. The book has several sensual references, without being descriptive. According to the author, this is all fiction, but it describes situations similar to real ones.
