A young 20-year-old teacher, the author, begins her professional life in small towns in Canada. The book is based on the author's recollections. She dedicates short chapters to some of her students and situations.

Very human relationships with the families appear. Written with a certain romanticism and very poetic moments. The immense love for her work, which goes through the love for her students, is evident.
