The novel cobbles up three independent stories, all taking place in 2015. Yasmine and Fadi, Syrians, are immigrants in Sweden, but are rootless. Yasmine flees to the United States. Fadi, alone, becomes a radical jihadist and is sent to Syria. Yasmine comes to know and returns to Sweden trying to meet him, who has disappeared. On the other hand Klara, in London, works for a research institute and has to go to Stockholm to accompany her chief at the presentation of a piece of work. The three meet here, but from an incomprehensible point of view. It makes for an interesting reading, as the plot is catching. The history is hard, narrated crudely and with a coarse language.
