The book gathers together the meditations that the author preached to the Pontifical House during Advent 2006 and Lent 2008, and in which Benedict XVI was present. As the title indicates, each meditation was dedicated to a different beatitude, and the author strove to show how these are articulated among themselves, revealing the beauty of the message and the Christian way of life. Cantalamessa in these eight meditations achieves the not easy balance between encouraging personal prayer and deepening theological or exegetical themes related to each beatitude.
