This small book contains the meditations written by Benedict XVI during his time as Archbishop of Munich. The texts were written as sermons, press articles or radio interventions for a wide public.  In the author's words, Christmas is the most human celebration of faith, since it makes us feel God's humanity in the deepest way. Nowhere else can it be perceived as in the manger what it means that God has wanted to be God with us, a God with whom we are on a first-name basis because he meets us like a child. Thus, Christmas is also in a special way a feast that invites to meditation, to the inner contemplation of the word. These meditations once again show Joseph Ratzinger as a spiritual man who knows how to reach out with his message to both the intelligence and the heart.
