Christopher West has been writing books about John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body” and giving conferences about it for several years now. There has clearly been a development in his writing, from a popular, rather explicit and passionate approach, to a more measured and thought out writing. This last book is a commentary on the first part of Benedict’s XVI’s encyclical "Deus Caritas Est", explaining how it is in perfect continuity with John Paul’s teachings in the "Theology of the Body". It brings in a number of useful insights on the virtue of chastity, marriage and the family, friendship, and other related matters.
