The author attempts to document the Australian involvement in the Vietnam war. Overall some in depth reporting is done and new facts revealed. He takes the side of the average military person, who did a good job despite incompetent seniors and politicians: It could have been more objective. Describes the horrible brutality towards civilians and some sexual issues bluntly.
