As the short extension of the book suggests, this Church History is necessarily very concise. It is well written and easy to read. The Author is good at describing the reasons and internal motivations of heretics and false reformers, while some times he treats the decisions or points the view of the Magisterium with detachment.
There are some historical mistakes or lacks of scholarly precision, for instance when the book seems to identify the Edict of Milan with the conversion of Constantine.
In general, the tone of the book seems to give emphasis to the human, political and cultural factors in the history of the Church while the work of the Holy Spirit and the Providence of God barely are mentioned.
