"An Inspector Calls" is a short play about a young woman who has died in an infirmary after ingesting disinfectant. A family dinner party is held and is interrupted by the arrival of an inspector investigating the suicide of a young woman and seeing if there is a link between the two deaths. The work is full of surprising twists.
The author was born in Bradford, England, in 1894 and died in 1984. He served in the Infantry in the First World War and went on to study in Cambridge, before settling in London. The play is a psychological mystery drama.
