Ideas that contradict Church teaching:

The encyclical Redemptor Hominis (The Redeemer of Man), published on March 4, 1979, is the first magisterial document of the pontificate of Saint John Paul II. Written just five months after his election, it establishes the foundations of his teaching, emphasizing Christ as the center of history and humanity, the mission of the Church in the contemporary world, and the dignity of the redeemed human being.

The Pope assumed his pontificate at a crucial moment, marked by tensions between Communism and the Western world, a crisis of faith following the Second Vatican Council, and growing secularization. Against this backdrop, he reaffirms the centrality of Christ and the role of the Church in the service of humanity, promoting truth, justice, and peace.

Redemptor Hominis is a programmatic manifesto that defines the course of his pontificate. It explores contemporary human problems and proposes solutions based on a deeper understanding of the human person. It emphasizes the need for evangelical renewal and the defense of human dignity in a world in crisis. This document laid the foundation for key themes in his teaching, such as the new evangelization, social justice, and the defense of the faith.

To this day, Redemptor Hominis remains a fundamental reference for understanding the thought of Saint John Paul II and its impact on the Church and the world.

"In my first encyclical, I have tried to express what has animated and continues to animate my thoughts and my heart since the beginning of my pontificate. The encyclical contains the thoughts that, at the beginning of this new journey of service, urged me with particular force and that had undoubtedly already been maturing in me during the years of my priestly and then episcopal service."
