The humble gentleman Don Quixote is obsessed with tales of chivalry and decides to roam the world seeking adventures. He rides Rosinante and travels with Sancho Panza. He fixes on a neighbouring girl as 'the mistress of his heart' though she was totally unaware of it. In a world where windmills are giants one absurd adventure follows another.

Miguel de Saaverdra Cervantes was born in 1547 and died in 1616 having become a foremost Spanish novelist from Alcala. He lost the use of his left hand at Lepanto in 1571 and was captured by pirates and imprisoned for five years in Algiers. A masterpiece in the form of a burlesque, where characters are real and heroic. It’s a delightful mix of ballads and romances of chivalry.
