Letters written by Guardini in the 1920s for young people in a youth formation movement. Each letter gathers their reflections on a topic, seeking to foster the human virtues in them: joy, hospitality, elegance, stylishness, effort, work, friendship; and also some aspects about prayer and the soul. With a very simple and realistic style, also direct and encouraging, it seeks to promote permanent values, with both an ethical and a civic point of view. The final chapter, "The State in Us", is particularly interesting in its suggestions on how to live social virtues. A book aimed at young people who are looking for self-knowledge, or for those who deal with them.
