Rat, Mole, Badger and Toad take part in their shared adventures with life on the river. Kenneth Grahame was born in 1859 in Edinburgh, was educated in Oxford, worked for the Bank of England and died in 1932. He started writing stories for his son at bedtime, and these and letters sent in the holidays were drawn together to form this classic children's book. It was never meant for publication.
