These homilies are a coherent and valuable witness to the ecclesial tradition, and from the spiritual climate in which they have been conceived and delivered, they constitute at the same time a witness to the spirit of the Prelature of Opus Dei [...], which proclaims and spreads throughout the world [...] the ideal of sanctification through the fulfillment of one's personal duties (from the Foreward). Bishop Javier Echevarría conceives the priesthood as "service" and "participation in the mission of Christ". This is reflected in this book, which contains twenty-four of his homilies, centered on the figure of the priest.
