The book is a collection of 39 homilies, addresses, and excerpts from papal documents of Pope Francis, organized around ten themes. Being a collection of the Pope’s statements on various occasions, it offers clear insights into the messages that have characterized the Pope’s teachings since his election in 2013, with an emphasis on God’s mercy revealed in Jesus Christ. The selection of texts seems to reflect the priorities of the publishers and thus gives preference to the Pope’s promotion of social justice and regard for the poor. Nevertheless, it also embraces a wide range of topics on which Pope Francis sets the foundation for the basic elements of Christian faith and life, such as a wholehearted following of Jesus Christ, love for the truth, faith in the Word of God, the need for the Cross, practice of virtues, and devotion to our Lady.
